Welcome to the World of Fear! To be able to play, each player must create a character to join with. These characters can be anyone of any age and occupation. Below are step-by-step instructions to help you with your character creation process!

 

Please note that when creating your character, using pictures is optional, though please note that using AI-generated images and other people's artwork and character designs is strictly forbidden.

 

Step 1: Please read through the RPG Setting and Rules to understand the setting and theme. This will help you create a character that fits into the game world.

 

Step 2: Think about the type of character you want to play. Consider their background, personality, strengths, weaknesses, and any unique perspectives, beliefs, or skills they may possess.

 

Step 3: Fill in the character form. This will detail important information about your character and help you and others to get familiar with them!

• Name: Choose a fitting name for your character.

• Age: Specify their age or age range.

• Sex & Pronouns: Specify your character's gender identity and preferred pronouns to reflect their personal identity (e.g., male, female, non-binary, he/him, she/her, they/them, etc.).

• Appearance: Provide a physical description of your character's appearance and close they often wear. You can add an image if you've drawn or commissioned it, made it with an online character creator/dollmaker, or if you are using a famous person/model as a face claim. Please always provide a link to the creator or source of the image unless it was made by you.

• Equipment: List any items, weapons, or tools your character will carry.

• Personality: Describe their personality traits, beliefs, and quirks.

• Background: Write a brief background story for your character, explaining their past experiences and motivations.

• Faction or Alignment: If applicable, state which group or side your character aligns with.

• Fear appearance: Please describe or attach an image of what your character's fear looks like. Describe what fears the creature depicts and their mannerisms.

 

Step 4: Submit your character to the designated thread for review. This is done to ensure your character adheres to the RPG's guidelines and fits well within the setting. Once reviewed, a character will either be accepted or feedback will be provided for necessary changes.

 

Step 5: Once your character is approved, you can introduce them by creating a thread for them in the character section on the forum.

 

Step 6: Find people to play with by creating a post looking for people or by responding to other people's wanted posts!  Remember to be kind to everyone on the forum.

 

Lastly, feel free to add unique details, additional sections, and personality traits that make your character stand out. You can also completely alter the form, skip some sections such as equipment or faction and make the character profile feel truly yours. This is your character and as such it should be someone you'll enjoy playing as! The only must-have for each character is name, age, appearance, personality, and their Fear, so please at least include these aspects when applying!
